Last update: November 10th

During the past few years it was planned to extend the ESC by a programme which supports the exchange between young scientists.
The programme aims to give the possibility to ESC participants to work on a project at the Charité by establishing the contact between a laboratory and the student and by contributing with financial support.

The award is supported by Allianz-Versicherungs AG (private health insurance).

The two winners of the Charité-Allianz Research Award receive the total amount of 500 EUR per month for the period of one year.

The money is provided by the Allianz and the department you work at, one half each.

During this time the students are supposed to work on a defined research project under guidance of a qualified scientist of the Charité. This project can also be part of a doctoral thesis.

There may potentially also be a possibility for the winners of the research award to publish their abstracts and their results in a journal. Regrettably it is not possible to give more detailed information about that by this point of time because the conditions are still to be negotiated.

The abstracts will be reviewed and the accepted applicants will present their work in front of a special jury which is set by the respective department.

The guidelines and required application documents are:

  • The applicants are supposed to attend the ESC as an active participant (see the application guidelines on our website)
  • Letter of motivation
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Application is only possible for following departments:
Anatomy, Obstetrics, Pediatric Dermatology, Nephrology, Infectious Diseases (please check this website regularly because we are still acquiring more departments)

The aim of the ESC is not to offer an own scholarship with the Charité-Allianz Research Award but we simply want to establish the contact between the laboratories of the Charité and the potential candidates. For this purpose, the conference is meant to be a platform for the selection of potential applicants but the technical realization including a precise research contract is to be organized by the particular department.

Note: Research award will only be given to non german students!
