General Information Conference venue The 21st European Students Coference will be hosted at the Campus Virchow of the Charité Hospital at Forum 3. The stations closest to the Virchow Campus are the underground station “Amrumer Straße” (U9) at the main entrance A (Augustenburger Platz) and the Tram/bus stop "Virchow-Klinikum" (Tram M13, Tram M50, Bus 106) in front of the campus entrance B (Seestraße 5). -> Journey Planner IMPORTANT: Note that currently the S-Bahn is not operating on schedule. If possible use the U-Bahn, Tram or Bus to reach the conference venue.

Registration A When to register: Registration will be open from Saturday 3rd of October 3pm – 8pm and during the conference days (14-17th of October) from 7am to 5pm. We kindly ask all active participants who give presentations on the first conference day (14.10.2010) to register one day earlier. Active participants are requested to register at least 4 hours prior to their presentation. Otherwise we cannot guarantee the participation in the session assigned to you. Passive participants are free to register at any time. However if you attend the ESC from Sunday on a registration on Saturday is preferred. B Documents required: Please have all required information (ESC-ID, invitation letter, passport) available at the registration desk to avoid delays in the registration process. If you have paid per credit card via our website please print and bring the transaction confirmation for your payment.
Where to hand in your presentation/poster: Talk: Please hand in your power point presentation at the IT Desk (Media Check) after your registration at the registration desk. You are asked to hand in your presentation at least 4 hours before your session starts. Poster: Please attach your poster to the poster board indicated with your personal poster number until 9 am at the day of your poster session (see Poster Guidelines).
Workshops & Social Event Online Registration Please notice that there are only limited places available in the workshops and social events at the 21st ESC. We therefore ask you to register online at www.esc-berlin.com at the workshop registration system. If you have missed the online registration for a workshop please check the Info desk at the conference for further places available in workshops and social events. Social Events are not available to participants with day tickets!
Food and Drinks At the conference are free to registered participants (active, passive and day tickets). We offer breakfast, lunch and coffee breaks. Note that the Welcome Eventon the first conference day does not include a dinner but drinks and a snack.
Participation certificate You will receive a certificate confirming your attendance at the registration desk. Public Transportation The public transportation in Berlin is excellent. The regular transport services ends at 1am on weekdays and Sunday. Night buses run less frequently. On Friday and Saturday trains and buses operate twenty-four-seven. IMPORTANT: Note that currently the S-Bahn is not operating on schedule at the moment. If possible use the U-Bahn, Tram or Bus to reach the conference venue. The 21st ESC does not provide tickets for public transportation. We recommend you to buy a day ticket for each day or a 7-day-pass if you stay in Berlin for more than 4 days. For further information on schedules and traffic connections see http://www.bvg.de/index.php/en. Taxis are not very cheap. If you travel up to 2 km you pay about 4 €. For up to 7 km you pay about 3,20 € plus approximately 1,65 € per km.
