Contest Structure

Application Process

During your online registration you will be asked to upload an abstract of your research and to classify it into one of the given biomedical fields. Authors of abstracts found to be promising by our Board will be invited to the conference in September. Please note our guidelines for abstracts.

Round 1 – Poster Sessions

There are 24 different medical disciplines for which you can apply with your abstract. In difference to last years contest mode every active participant has to prepare a poster and present it in the first round of the contest. We will offer you enough space and time to display your poster for two days. A scientific jury will choose the best poster presentation of each discipline.

Please note our guidelines for poster presentations

Round 2 – Oral Sessions

24 students who suceeded to win in their discipline, will give an oral presentation on their research. A jury will  choose 4 winners out of these 24 contestants. Please prepare yourself adequatly before the conference and note our guidelines for oral presentations

Round 3 – Final Session

On the last conference day the 4 remaining participants will compete for the Zondek Prize, given to the most outstanding presentation during our conference. They will have the chance to present their research results to more then 500 people in our big lecture theatre. Every contestant is allowed to give an oral presentation of 10 minutes and has another 5 minutes to answer questions from the jury and the audience.
