This year’s lecture series, “Consciousness and the Senses: How Do We Perceive the World?”, aims to explore the delicate line between consciousness and unconsciousness, perception and reality, man and machine, memory and imagination, genius and madness, and physiological ageing and neurogenerative illness.
The programme will comprise of contributions of various medical disciplines, such as neurosciences, psychiatry, biotechnology, space medicine, public health etc. and of course related ethical issues will be discussed in a panel discussion. We believe that a patient’s mind, perceptions and cognition are very important in every aspect of clinical work.
Please note that abstracts from any (bio)medical field can be handed in. They do not have to deal with this year’s lecture series!
The conference will take place from 4th – 7th September 2013, at the Virchow Klinikum Campus of the University Teaching Hospitals (Charité Universitätsmedizin) in Berlin, Germany. Over 600 participants from all over the world are expected and Keynote speakers will present their current projects on different aspects of the topic.
There will be oral and poster presentations at the Conference as well as opportunities to compete for Awards and monetary prizes. All accepted abstracts will be published in the conference abstract book.
We hope you will join us.
